Severe Socioeconomic Exposures Due to Enhanced Future Compound Flood-Heat Extreme Hazards in China

چکیده
As the climate warms, a new hazard, compound flood-heat extreme (CFH) events, characterized by rapid succession of devastating floods and deadly heat (or vice-versa), are becoming increasingly frequent, threatening infrastructure ecosystems. However, how this CFH hazard will change under future anthropogenic warming in China their potential population economic exposures remains unexamined. Here, we systematically quantify projected changes bivariate CHF hazards for 187 catchments during 2071–2100 period relative to 1985–2014 investigate gross domestic product (GDP) exposure, developing climatic-hydrological-socioeconomic modelling chain. We find that there is nationwide increase historical 30-year episodes 10 times southern catchments. Under synergistic impacts changing (GDP), mass people (0.79–2.13 thousand/km2) eastern (1.68 an enormous sum GDP (400–912 million/km2) be exposed increasing hazards. Our results highlight necessity improving both societal resilience mitigation solutions address such weather-related

Radioactive analysis and radiological hazards of sand in Weifang, China
Background: The activity concentrations of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K in sand used as building material in Weifang of China were investigated for evaluating the radiation hazard. Materials and Methods: Sand samples were collected from Weifang and their radioactivity levels were measured using gamma-ray spectrometry. The radiation hazard for residents was assessed by radium equivalent activity (Raeq),...
متن کاملRhabdomyolysis and Acute Kidney Injury due to Severe Heat Stroke
We present a case of heat stroke (HS) and acute kidney injury (AKI) due to severe rhabdomyolysis in a 14-year-old previously healthy female patient. When she was practicing strenuous exercise she suffered acute seizures and high fever. These symptoms were followed by coma and multiple organ failure (MOF), which included AKI, encephalopathy, fulminant hepatic failure (FHF), and disseminated intr...
متن کاملDeveloping regulations for occupational exposures to health hazards in Malaysia.
In Malaysia exposures in the workplace are regulated under the Factories and Machinery Act (FMA), 1967 and also under the more comprehensive Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) enacted in 1994. With OSHA 1994 the philosophy of legislating safety and health in the workplace changed from one that was very prescriptive and containing detailed technical provisions under FMA, 1967 to one that ...
متن کاملAn integrated regionalization of earthquake, flood, and drought hazards in China
Earthquake, flood, and drought data from different sources are combined in a single data set using the same data structure, projection, and scale. The intensity and frequency of each hazard is classified into severe, heavy, modest, and light, producing a dassification with 64 combined states for the three kinds of hazard. These classes are then ranked according to severity. The three hazard cov...
